OMTRA’s story is, first and foremost, a family story, built over 70 years across three generations and shaped by a shared vision of entrepreneurship.
It all began in Milan in 1956, when Silvio Spadoni founded Organizzazione Magazzini e Trasporti (from which the name OMTRA derives) during the height of Italy’s post-war reconstruction.
OMTRA is built on simple, enduring values: respect, honesty and trust, combined with the ability to develop practical solutions that meet the needs of businesses. Under Giorgio Spadoni’s leadership, this legacy evolved into an even broader vision, inspired by Olivetti’s philosophy: a company does not exist separately from society, but grows together with its people and the communities around it.
This vision has guided OMTRA’s evolution from traditional logistics to Records Management and Information Governance, combining innovation with a tangible commitment to social responsibility. Through training and employment programmes, OMTRA creates opportunities that help people from vulnerable backgrounds regain independence, responsibility and dignity.
Today, with Giovanna Spadoni, the third generation of the family and CEO since 2022, that same vision continues to evolve while remaining firmly rooted in its origins.
OMTRA sees data protection, digital transformation, ITAD, the circular economy and sustainability as new expressions of a principle that has always guided the company: taking care of what is entrusted to it, of the resources it uses and of the impact it creates. Becoming a Benefit Corporation and a certified B Corp, together with the launch of OMTRAdvisory in 2023, represent further milestones along this journey.
From the trucks of Italy’s post-war reconstruction to data, from archives to the circular economy, OMTRA has evolved many times over the past 70 years.
Yet what truly matters has never changed: its way of doing business, placing expertise, responsibility and relationships at the heart of its growth.
