Our History
1956
OMTRA (initially Organizzazione Magazzini Trasporti ed Archivi) was born in Milan at the initiative of its founder Silvio Spadoni to organize and provide transport and logistics for multinationals. Its first customers included Oerlikon, SHELL and Bayer. OMTRA was the first to introduce to Italy archiving for third parties, Information governance, secure destruction and consultancies services for law firms, companies and international government bodies.
1980
OMTRA was once more in the Italian avant-garde because, at the request of Shell, and later of SIP, Kraft Foods and Citibank, it archived their documentation for security reasons, as it had been considered vital to split them between internal electronically archived information and the external secure storage of the documentary.
1993
OMTRA became an active member of US Associations of the sector (PRISM, NAID and ARMA International).
Giorgio Spadoni was a speaker and actively collaborated with these associations. He is photographed during the 1996 Arma Conference in Denver for the creation of the future international standards for records management.
2009
OMTRA is now in its third generation after Giorgio (the son who introduced records management to Italy) and now Giovanna Giulia (the granddaughter) who provides internal consultancy to companies to introduce information management, secure destruction and digital transformation with tried and tested partners throughout the world.
2019
Giovanna Giulia has worked in the EU and the USA. She is the Chairperson of PRISM DLC (Divisional Leadership Committee): here she is photographed with her colleagues and friends Christopher Powell (PRISM International President and owner of Secure Records Solution) and Bowman Richards (iSIGMA Board Member and Richards&Richards President Secure Shredding Services).
2021
After 65 years of promoting values linked to the protection of the ecosystem and the community, OMTRA has officially been certified a Benefit Company. OMTRA is among the first Italian companies to take this step, the first ever in its sector in Italy, and we also believe in the entire world, to do so.
2022
Our constant commitment to the environment, workers and human rights, and ethics has led us to seek a sustainability certification in 2022 from the prestigious international eco-certification agency EcoVadis.
2023
In May 2023, OMTRA Srl Benefit Company became a certified B Corp with a final score of 95.2.
We are the first B Corp certified company in the Information Governance sector..

We are passionately committed to a sustainable future by improving the economic, social, and environmental well-being of our community. Concretely, we reduce, reuse, repurpose, and recycle IT assets and E-waste.
Our philosophy
Our philosophy is to make the customer independent of the supplier, sharing Information governance culture, with hybrid solutions, inside and outside the company perimeter. Our goal is to increase awareness by the Board of the state of its information, applying solutions already used internationally, customized for Italy by our consultants and often innovatory for the sector.
Services and School
OMTRA is a provider of services and school for companies. It bridges the cultural gap between Italy and the USA, analyzing and implementing information governance systems with international standards and software, aiming towards a circular economy with due attention to corporate social responsibility and the surrounding environment.
Benefit Company
Since 2021, OMTRA S.r.l. has become a Società Benefit (Benefit Company), which required a change of our statute to pursue goals of common benefit for the environment, people and community.

Our Board of Directors is composed of our President Giorgio Spadoni and our CEO Giovanna Giulia Spadoni, as well as two independent members who are not employees of the company: Diego Facci, tax consultant, and Willy Arbus, Security Manager.
